Wei Lin Tan
Ang Mo Kio ยท Personal Finance Foundations
"I had been putting off dealing with my finances for years โ not because I did not care, but because I did not know where to start. Personal Finance Foundations gave me a framework I actually understand and use. The workbook alone was worth the programme fee."

Priya Rajendran
Bishan ยท Capital Markets Orientation
"The simulation project was the part I was most apprehensive about, but it turned out to be the most useful. Working through a hypothetical portfolio over eight weeks made the theory stick in a way that reading alone never would have. Rajan's explanations were patient and clear throughout."

Jurong West ยท Personal Finance Foundations
"What stood out was that there was never any attempt to push me toward any product or service. It was purely educational, which I had not experienced before with any finance-related event. I did wish there was slightly more time on debt โ that section moved quickly."

Toa Payoh ยท Strategic Life Planning
"My wife and I joined Strategic Life Planning together. The private consultation sessions were where the programme really came into its own โ working through our CPF strategies and retirement projections with actual guidance was more useful than I had anticipated. Three months in, we have already made meaningful changes."

Sarah Chen
Novena ยท Capital Markets Orientation
"I had read a fair amount online about investing before joining, but I realised fairly quickly that I had been absorbing information without real structure. The programme gave me a way to organise what I already knew and fill in the gaps properly. The case study pack is something I still refer to."

Kavitha Nair
Tampines ยท Strategic Life Planning
"The insurance adequacy section was an eye-opener. I had always assumed my existing coverage was sufficient โ it was not, and I now have a clear sense of why and what to address. The programme is thorough without feeling overwhelming, which is not easy to achieve with this much material."

J. K., 34 โ Marketing Manager, Central Region
Personal Finance Foundations โ Capital Markets Orientation
Challenge
Earning a comfortable income but spending without structure โ no clear savings target, credit card balances carried month to month, and a vague sense that more should have accumulated by age 34.
Approach
Started with Personal Finance Foundations, which gave structure to income, expenses, and savings. Returned six months later for Capital Markets Orientation, motivated by a desire to understand what to do with savings once accumulated.
Outcome
Credit card balance cleared within four months. Savings rate increased. 12 months later, the first ETF investment made with a clear rationale โ not based on a tip or a trending topic.

Strategic Life Planning (couple cohort)
Challenge
Two incomes, a mortgage, school fees, and ageing parents โ with no consolidated view of where they stood relative to retirement. CPF had never been actively managed, and there was no will or lasting power of attorney in place.
Approach
Joined Strategic Life Planning together. Used the individual consultation sessions to work through their combined financial position, CPF projections, and insurance gap analysis. Developed a coordinated long-range plan during the programme.
Outcome
CPF top-up strategy implemented. Insurance coverage reviewed and adjusted. Wills drafted following the estate planning session. Described the programme as the first time they felt they had a shared understanding of their financial situation.
N. T., 29 โ Engineer, Queenstown
Capital Markets Orientation
Challenge
Had been putting money into a robo-advisor account for two years without understanding what it was doing or why. Wanted to understand markets properly before deciding whether to continue, adjust, or change approach entirely.
Approach
Completed Capital Markets Orientation. The portfolio simulation project used a similar asset allocation to their existing robo-advisor as the basis โ allowing direct comparison and analysis throughout the programme.
Outcome
Decided to continue with the robo-advisor, but with an informed understanding of what it holds and why. Also opened a separate account for a small direct ETF allocation. The change was not dramatic โ but it was deliberate.
